What we care about in a styler

Men's hair in Korea is mostly thick and straight, and it grows out sideways before it grows down. That is the hair DASHU learned on. A wax has to hold a shape against that spring, and a down perm has to press the sides flat without a trip to the barber.

So the hold comes first, and it is on every pack. The jars and tubes carry a scale for hold and for shine, six steps on the waxes and curl creams, five on the pomades. You can read two products side by side before you buy either.

The second thing is washing out. A styler that needs three shampoos is a styler you stop using. Ours are water-based or made to rinse clean, and the labels say so.

What is on the pack

Most DASHU packs are printed for the Korean market first, so a good share of the text on a tube or bottle is in Korean. The product name, the size and the hold scale are in English.
